Excess

In the case of damage or theft, the renter is responsible for paying 15% of the replacement value or repair cost of the item/items concerned. The minimum excess to initiate Wedio Global Coverage is £580 in the UK, and €670 in EU Countries.

In the case of voluntary parting, the lender will be reimbursed the market value of the items concerned (up to £25k) minus a 15% excess (minimum £580).

Reimbursement will be paid out to lenders with or without VAT depending on the lender's status.

Claims

Wedio Global Coverage must be used secondary to any existing coverage procured by the lender.

If a damage or theft claim is accepted, you will be reimbursed the market value of the equipment rented out or the cost to repair if repairable (whichever value is lowest). The renter will be responsible for an excess payment which will be collected by Wedio.

If a voluntary parting claim is approved, the lender will be reimbursed the market value of the equipment rented out, minus a 15% excess (minimum £580).

Need to report a claim?

A valid claim should ensure that:

  • You inform us no more than 48 hours after the incident.
  • Have completed a claims form and include documentation of the damaged equipment (purchase receipt or proof of purchase) as well as an account of the incident that led to damage occurring.
  • That you have in the case of theft or fraud, filed a police report and can provide a relevant crime reference number.
